Intellectual Property Analyst in CHEMISTRY

WHAT A TYPICAL DAY AS AN IP ANALYST WILL LOOK LIKE

At the beginning of the employment, you will undergo intensive training covering subjects including patent law, search methodologies, use of search platforms and other necessary skills.

You will start by analysing the invention that is the subject of the project. The project might be about a ground-breaking cancer treatment, plastics used to produce bottle caps or a cosmetic formulation.

You will develop a search strategy based on your understanding of the project and expertise in the subject field.

Using various search platforms, you will then proceed to execute the strategy. At this point, your ability to adapt and think critically will kick in.  

You will constantly adjust and re-evaluate your search strategy to deliver the most accurate research.

At the end of the project, you will collate your findings into a clear and concise report as per customer needs. 

Throughout the whole process, you will have the support of Laudea’s experience and resources.

YOUR PROFILE

You hold a Ph.D. degree in chemistry (organic chemistry, polymer chemistry, medicinal chemistry). 

You have knowledge of chemical structure drawing methodologies.

You are fluent in English, written and spoken. Fluency in German is a plus. 

You will work on projects that last one day or a few weeks. Time management skills will be crucial to the successful and timely execution of these projects. 

Patents can - and often are - complex and intentionally obfuscated. You must possess strong analytical skills to understand and interpret them.
